Taking a flight from Dalat to Quy Nhon doesn’t really make much sense because there are no direct flights for this route. All flights make a stop in Ho Chi Minh.
Also, total travel time takes around 7 hours, just as long as taking a much cheaper direct bus.
But if you really prefer to take a flight from Dalat to Quy Nhon, read on for more details.
The bus is the only direct option when travelling from Dalat to Quy Nhon.
There are five bus operators for this route. Ticket prices start from $13 for a sleeper bus. If you want more comfort and privacy, you can also take a VIP bus for 435,000 VND.
Travel time is around 6h - 7h 30m, depending on which bus you take.
In Quy Nhon, the busses arrive at the Big C, about 4 km south of Quy Nhon city centre. You can reach your hotel by taxi with fares from 70,000 VND or by motorbike taxi for around 25,000 VND.
You can also take a combined van/bus and train from Dalat to Quy Nhon. However, we recommend this option only if you plan to explore the beach city of Nha Trang.
Because there are no direct trains operating from Dalat to Quy Nhon, you’ll first need to take a van or bus to Nha Trang. From here, you can then transfer to a train bound for Quy Nhon.

Used the Songserm ferry from Koh Samui. Cheaper than Lomprayah but takes a bit longer. Still a perfectly fine crossing. The views approaching Koh Tao are stunning either way.

Train via Surat Thani was our pick. More scenic than Chumphon route and the Lomprayah catamaran from Tapee Pier is very comfortable. Book the special express train for the quickest ride.
The overnight bus with Montanatip was okay but not great. The bus was older and the seats didn't recline much. Ferry portion was fine though. If you're on a tight budget it works.
Took the sleeper train to Chumphon — magical! Woke up to palm trees and transferred to the Lomprayah catamaran. Whole journey felt like an adventure.
Lomprayah bus+ferry combo from Khao San Road was seamless. Departed at 6am, arrived Koh Tao by 3pm. Well organized.
Flew to Koh Samui and took Lomprayah catamaran. More expensive but saved a full day. Worth it if your holiday is short.
