Technically, Battambang does have a small airport just 3 km from the centre, but it hasn’t been in use for years. Apart from a few locals using it for football, there’s nothing happening there.

If you’re after more comfort or want to save time, a private taxi is a good option. Local drivers usually charge around 201,000 KHR ($50), but they might try to push the price higher. It's best to agree on the fare before you go.

Step 2: Sihanoukville to Siem Reap by Flight

Sihanouk International Airport is a small airport and does not host a lot of flights. The flight takes around 1h 05m, and fares start from 221,000 KHR ($55).

Step 3: Siem Reap Airport to Battambang by Taxi

You can get a taxi from Siem Reap International Airport to Battambang for around 281,000 KHR ($70). These are regular sedans parked outside the terminal. Be sure to agree on the fare before you hop in.

The city of Battambang is fairly spread out, however, you'll find the majority of accommodations are located centrally, near the Sangkae River.

The downtown area is less than 5km from the airport so taking public transportation or hopping in a taxi will be an easy & quick trip to your hotel. The bus terminal is located in the downtown area and will likely be within walking distance of your hotel, or just a short taxi ride away.
