Mykonos to Paros by Ferry
The only way to reach Paros from Mykonos is by ferry, and a direct ferry is the fastest way to travel this route. At least 3 ferry companies sail directly from Mykonos to Paros: Seajets, Golden Star Ferries, and Minoan Lines.
The direct ferry is definitely the best option during the high season (June to October). From November to April, ferries run less frequently, sometimes not at all.
The ferries have varying speeds, so the travel time can range from 40m - 1h 25m. Rates start from €33 ($39).
Departure and arrival station
Carefully check with the booking site from where the ferries leave. All ferries now depart from Mykonos New Port, about 4 km from the town centre. The Old Port was operational until 15 years ago, and it’s now mostly used for yachts, boats, and cruise ships.
If you arrive at the wrong port, you can easily take a 10-minute taxi or bus to the other port.
The ferries arrive at Paros Ferry Terminal in Parikia. This terminal is also conveniently located in the town centre.
Note: Always check your ticket to confirm which port the ferry leaves from. Although chances are small, it is possible the port has changed since this article was last updated.

Mykonos to Paros by Ferry via Syros
There is also an option to take a ferry from Mykonos to Paros via Syros. This indirect route is your best alternative option when there are no direct ferries available, especially outside the summer season (June to October).
For this option, you’ll have to take 2 ferries with total costs of about €35 ($41).
It’s important to note that although the combined ferry trips can take 1h 25m - 2h 45m, the entire journey can take up your whole day because of the non-matching ferry schedules. You’ll have a few hours of waiting time in Syros, which means an opportunity for you to get to know this relatively unknown island!
See here the two steps described in more detail:
Step 1: Mykonos to Syros by Ferry
Syros is a laidback Cyclades island located about 40 km west of Mykonos. This island is a picturesque display of whitewashed buildings and western influence but with its Greek traditions still intact.
There are 2 ferries that sail from Mykonos to Syros every day all year round.
Blue Star Ferries tickets cost only €20 ($24), but the trip takes longer at around an hour. Meanwhile, Seajets is faster with only 25 minutes travel time, but it is more expensive at €40 ($47).

Booking Tip
Ferries depart from Mykonos New Port, but make sure to double-check the departure port on your ticket. In Ermoupoli, the ferries arrive at Syros Port on the west coast.
You can buy your tickets at the port. Alternatively, you can book your tickets in advance through Direct Ferries.
Step 2: Syros to Paros by Ferry
The same ferries operate from Syros to Paros, and they are available every day except for Wednesdays.
Note that the ferries only have one departure in a day. With the current schedule (September 2022), only the Thursday trip with Blue Star Ferries allows you to reach Paros within the same day.
Upon arriving in Syros in the afternoon, you’ll have to wait for the 21:30 trip to Paros. This means that you have a few hours of waiting time, which you can use to walk or bike around Syros! We highly recommend exploring the charming alleys of Ano Syros and the ancient buildings of Ermoupoli.
Travel time is 1h - 1h 30m, and tickets start from €15 ($18).

The towns of Parikia and Naoussa are usually the most visited, and for good reason. But we also highly recommend exploring the lesser-known villages like Prodromos and Marpissa for a more genuine Greek experience.
