How to Get From Moalboal to Siquijor

If you are staying around Panagsama Beach, you first need to head to the bus stop in Moalboal town centre. You can take a tricycle for $2.40 (150 PHP) or a motorbike taxi starting at $0.80 (50 PHP).

At the bus stop in Bato, take a tricycle to get to Liloan Port. Fares start from $2.40 (150 PHP) for the 30-minute journey. Rates aren't always fixed, so make sure you agree on a price before hopping in!

From Liloan Port, ferries to Sibulan Port depart almost every hour from 03:30 to 19:30. A ferry ticket costs $2.40 (145 PHP), including the terminal fee of $0.20 (15 PHP).

Travel time takes only 20 minutes.

From Sibulan Port, Dumaguete Port is about 7 km away. The most convenient way to travel this distance is by tricycle, especially if you’re carrying a lot of luggage.

A tricycle ride to Dumaguete Port has prices starting from $3.30 (200 PHP), depending on your haggling skills.

Another option is to take a jeepney, which is much cheaper at $0.20 (15 PHP) per person. But the jeepney won’t take you all the way to the port. You’ll be dropped off along the main road, and from there, it’s about a 1 km walk to Dumaguete Port.

From Dumaguete, you can reach Siquijor in 45m - 1h 30m, depending on the type of ferry you take.

Fares start from $4.10 (250 PHP), and you can buy your tickets at the port. But when travelling on a weekend or during the summer, we highly recommend taking advantage of the option to book a ferry ticket online via BookAway. It will save you the hassle of long lines or finding out the ferry’s already full on your preferred departure time.

All ferries depart from Dumaguete Port. They arrive at either Siquijor Pier or Larena Pier.

If you’re staying in the main tourist area of San Juan, make sure you board a ferry that docks at Siquijor Pier. Most ferries go there, but it’s still worth confirming before you book.

Ceres Bus operates from Moalboal to Bato. These buses leave Cebu’s South Bus Terminal between 03:00 and 18:30, and they pass through Moalboal around 2 to 2.5 hours later — roughly between 05:00 and 21:00.

If you’re planning to catch the ferry from Liloan Port, the timing depends on the day:

• From Tuesday to Saturday, the ferry departs at 02:00 in the morning. To make it on time, you’ll need to take a bus from Moalboal in the evening and wait a few hours at the port before the ferry leaves.
• On Sundays, the ferry departs at 07:00. You can try to catch an early morning bus from Moalboal, but keep in mind that these buses usually pass through around 05:00 to 05:30. That cuts it close, so there’s a chance you might miss the ferry. If you’re not up for the stress of a tight connection, consider taking the ferry via Dumaguete instead.

Maayo Shipping operates the only ferry that goes straight from Liloan to Siquijor. It runs six times a week, from Tuesday to Sunday.

You can get an open-air seat for $4.50 (275 PHP), and the journey takes 2h.

The ferry departs from Liloan Port in Santander, Cebu’s southernmost town.

The arrival port is Larena on Siquijor Island. You can arrange a pickup beforehand from your hotel, but there are also a lot of tricycles waiting for passengers at the port. You can rent a tricycle from Larena to the main tourist area of San Juan for about $8.10 (500 PHP).
