Siquijor to Moalboal by Ferry via Bato
Step 1: Siquijor to Bato Port by Ferry
Maayo Shipping operates ferries from Siquijor to Bato six times a week. Trips sail from Tuesday to Saturday at 13:00, with an additional trip on Sunday at 16:00.
A ticket costs $4.50 (275 PHP), and the travel time is around 2h.
Ferries depart from Larena Pier on Siquijor's northern coast. If you’re coming from the tourist centre in San Juan, you can take a tricycle to Larena Pier for around $8.10 (500 PHP). The ride takes about an hour, so it’s best to leave early.

Step 2: Bato to Moalboal by Bus
At Bato Terminal, you can take a Ceres Bus (you can find it easily with its bright yellow colour) to Moalboal town centre. The bus ride takes 1.5-2 hours and the fare starts at $2.20 (135 PHP).
There is no official bus stop in Moalboal. So make sure to ask the driver or conductor to drop you off at the town centre.
Getting from Moalboal town centre to Panagsama Beach
If your accommodation is near Panagsama Beach, you will need another transfer from Moalboal town centre. A motorbike taxi takes about 10 minutes, and fares start at $0.80 (50 PHP). But if you’re carrying a lot of luggage, it’s better to take a tricycle, which costs $2.40 (150 PHP).
Siquijor to Moalboal by Ferry via Dumaguete
Step 1: Siquijor to Dumaguete by Ferry
Ferries sail several times from Siquijor to Dumaguete daily. The journey takes 45m - 1h 30m, depending on the type of ferry.
Ticket prices from Siquijor to Dumaguete start from $4.10 (250 PHP) for the slower car ferries. If you're in a hurry, several high-speed ferries are available, but they cost a bit more.
There are two ferry ports on Siquijor Island: Siquijor Pier and Larena Pier. Most ferries bound for Dumaguete depart from Siquijor Pier, which is also nearer the tourist area of San Juan.
A tricycle from San Juan to Siquijor Port costs $4.90 (300 PHP), while a minicab ride starts at $8.10 (500 PHP). You can ask your hotel if they offer a cheaper or even free transfer.
All ferries dock at Dumaguete Port.

Step 2: Dumaguete to Sibulan Port by Tricycle
You will find a lot of tricycles waiting for passengers outside Dumaguete Port. Hail one and ask for a ride going to Sibulan Port, which is about 7 km away.
It normally costs $3.30 (200 PHP) to get to Sibulan Port, although some drivers might try to charge higher. Make sure you agree on a price before setting off for the journey that takes 20m.
*UPDATE: We are currently (October 2024), unable to confirm the ferry fares and schedules for Montenegro Shipping due to constant changes from the pandemic.
Step 3: Sibulan Port to Liloan Port by Ferry
From Sibulan Port, you can get a ferry bound for Liloan Port. These ferries are available every 1 to 1.5 hours from 04:30 to 20:00.
Travel time is around 20m, and a ticket costs $2.30 (140 PHP), including the terminal fee.
Step 4: Liloan to Moalboal by Bus
At Liloan Port, take a tricycle to Samboan-Bato Bus Terminal, from where you can hop on a Ceres Bus to Moalboal.
Ask the driver to drop you off at Moalboal town centre. Here, you can hail a tricycle or a motorbike taxi to your accommodation. This final leg of the journey takes around 2h 30m.
Combined fares for this part of the trip start at $7.10 (435 PHP). Here’s a quick breakdown of the expenses:
