Step 1: Pagudpud to Tuguegarao by Bus
For the first part of the journey, you will take a bus from Pagudpud to Tuguegarao. You can do this by hailing a bus along the highway in Pagudpud. This bus would be coming from Laoag, with a big sign in the front that says Tuguegarao.
Ask your hotel staff or a friendly local where the best spot is to wait for the bus, most likely operated by GMW Trans. Once you're on board, tell the conductor you want to get off at Florida Bus Terminal. The journey takes about 5h-6h, depending on traffic, and costs around $7.60 (465 PHP).
If the bus drops you off somewhere in Tuguegarao town centre instead of the terminal, you can hop on a tricycle for a quick ride to the bus station.
Step 2: Tuguegarao to Bagabag by Bus
At the bus terminal in Tuguegarao, ask around for buses bound for Bagabag. Be sure to double-check with the driver if they pass through Bagabag Junction, as not all buses take the same route.
GV Florida runs this route with ticket prices from $7.70 (470 PHP). The journey takes around 4h 30m.
You'll arrive at GV Florida Bus Stop. From there, walk a bit towards Bagabag Junction. Locals will be happy to help you hail a jeepney going to Banaue.
Step 3: Bagabag to Banaue by Jeepney
The jeepney to Banaue takes about 2 hours. Note that sometimes, jeepneys don’t go straight to Banaue but instead, stop in Lagawe. If this happens, you can take another jeepney from Lagawe to Banaue. Expect the two jeepney rides to take around 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Jeepneys usually drop passengers off near the Banaue Municipal Tourist Centre. Whether you get a direct ride or need to change in Lagawe, the total cost is approximately $2.40 (150 PHP), making it an affordable way to reach Banaue.
