Dalat to Quy Nhon by Bus

The bus is the only direct option when travelling from Dalat to Quy Nhon.

There are five bus operators for this route. Ticket prices start from 347,000 VND ($13) for a sleeper bus. If you want more comfort and privacy, you can also take a VIP bus for 435,000 VND ($17).

Travel time is around 6h - 7h 30m, depending on which bus you take.

Departure and arrival station

Buses depart from Nguyen Tu Luc Street, located 5 km north of Da Lat’s backpacker area. You can get to the bus station by taxi for about 95,000 VND ($3.60) or by motorbike taxi with rates from 40,000 VND ($1.50).

In Quy Nhon, the busses arrive at the Big C, about 4 km south of Quy Nhon city centre. You can reach your hotel by taxi with fares from 70,000 VND ($2.70) or by motorbike taxi for around 25,000 VND ($1.00).

Dalat to Quy Nhon by Train

You can also take a combined van/bus and train from Dalat to Quy Nhon. However, we recommend this option only if you plan to explore the beach city of Nha Trang.

Because there are no direct trains operating from Dalat to Quy Nhon, you’ll first need to take a van or bus to Nha Trang. From here, you can then transfer to a train bound for Quy Nhon.

Step 1: Dalat to Nha Trang by Van/Bus

We recommend taking a van from Dalat to Nha Trang. Vans operating this route are faster and much more comfortable than the bus. Van fares start from 240,000 VND ($9.10) for the journey that takes 3h-4h.

Cuc Tung and Futa Bus depart from the Interprovincial Bus Station, located 3 km southeast of Dalat city centre. Lac Hong offers free hotel pick-up, but its first trip doesn’t depart until noon.

Cuc Tung Limo Van and Futa Bus make their last stop at Nha Trang’s Central Bus Station, some 7 km west of the main beach. Lac Hong, on the other hand, parks at Go! Nha Trang, some 4 km west of the beach.

Step 2: Nha Trang to Quy Nhon by Train

From Nha Trang, you can take one of the afternoon trains to Quy Nhon. The trains depart at 13:49 and 18:14 and the journey takes about 4h 09m - 4h 41m.

An advantage of this schedule is that it gives you a bit of time to explore the beauty of Nha Trang, as long as you take a morning van or bus from Dalat.

Trains depart from Nha Trang Railway Station, located within the city centre, just 2 km west of the main beach. Depending on your hotel’s location, you can get to the train station via a few minutes’ walk or a short taxi ride.

Note that the train can only take you up to Dieu Tri Railway Station, located 10 km west of Quy Nhon city centre. To get to your hotel, you can take the local bus T22 for 20,000 VND ($0.80) or a taxi for 200,000 VND ($7.60).

Dalat to Quy Nhon by Flight

Taking a flight from Dalat to Quy Nhon doesn’t really make much sense because there are no direct flights for this route. All flights make a stop in Ho Chi Minh.

Also, total travel time takes around 7 hours, just as long as taking a much cheaper direct bus.

But if you really prefer to take a flight from Dalat to Quy Nhon, read on for more details.

Step 1: Dalat City Centre to Dalat Airport by Taxi

You can find Dalat Airport (Lien Khuong) some 30 km south of Dalat city centre. To get to the airport, you can take a 1-hour bus or a 45-minute taxi.

Buses depart from Ngoc Phat Hotel near Xuan Huong Lake in the centre. It’s best to be there at least 3 hours before your flight to make sure you arrive at the airport on time. A ticket costs 40,000 VND ($1.50).

Alternatively, a taxi ride costs around 288,000 VND ($11). The taxi is a better option if you’re already short on time or if you’re travelling in a group.

Step 2: Dalat to Quy Nhon by Flight

There are several indirect flights operating from Dalat to Quy Nhon via Ho Chi Minh daily. Vietjet Air usually offers the cheapest fares, with rates starting with 1,500,000 VND ($57).

Other carriers include Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways.

The fastest indirect flight from Dalat to Quy Nhon takes around 5 hours.

Step 3: Quy Nhon Airport to Quy Nhon City Centre by Taxi

From Quy Nhon Airport (Phu Cat), the city centre is still 30 km away. You can take a 1-hour bus or a 45-minute taxi to reach your accommodation in Quy Nhon.

The more budget-friendly option is the shuttle bus at only 50,000 VND ($1.90) per ticket. Do note that the bus can only take you up to 1 Nguyen Tat Thanh in the city centre. Depending on your hotel’s location, you can walk or take a short taxi ride from the bus drop-off point.

For more comfort and convenience, you can also just take a taxi straight to your hotel. Taxi rates from Quy Nhon Airport to the city centre start from 350,000 VND ($13).
